RUBIX ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application for speedcube training, developed and published by AWM Projects. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the RUBIX app on Android or iOS devices.

We operate on a local-first, privacy-respecting model. Here is a complete breakdown of what is and is not collected:

We do not transmit your solve data, training history, or any personal usage information to any server. This data lives exclusively on your device and is erased when you uninstall the app.
RUBIX displays advertisements through Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. AdMob may collect and use data to serve relevant ads to you. This may include:

To opt out of personalised advertising on Android, open Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation. On iOS 14.5+, you will be prompted by the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) dialog before any tracking occurs.
The app-local data (solve records, settings) is used exclusively to power the features of RUBIX:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:
RUBIX is a general-audience app not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Regarding advertising, RUBIX does not serve personalised ads to users under 13. AdMob is configured to comply with COPPA and the Google Families Policy where applicable. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@rubixapp.com so we can take appropriate action.

European Economic Area / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR):
Because all your app data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise your right of erasure at any time by clearing the app's data via your device settings or uninstalling the app. For data held by Google (AdMob), please refer to Google's data controls.
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA):
We do not sell personal information. For advertising-related opt-out, use the device-level controls described in Section 3.
Brazil (LGPD):
All app data (solve records, sessions, settings) is retained on your device for as long as the app is installed. You may delete individual solves or sessions within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app permanently erases all locally stored data.
Data retained by Google (AdMob) is subject to Google's own retention and deletion policies.
Since all user data is stored locally on your device, its security is governed by your device's own security features (passcode, encryption, biometrics). We do not transmit this data over the network and therefore it is not exposed to server-side risks.
We keep the app and its dependencies updated to address known security vulnerabilities.
The app may contain links to external websites (e.g., WCA website, algorithm references). These sites are not operated by us and are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, app features, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
